Carlo Giuseppe Attisano
Carlo Attisano died on May 5, 2025, in Andalusia, Alabama after a brief illness. He was born on May 5, 1939, in Locri, a town in Calabria, a region of southern Italy. His parents were Antonio Attisano and Immacolata Concetta Attisano. Carlo and his family emigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Bayonne, New Jersey. He graduated from Bayonne High School and studied at the Newark College of Engineering (now New Jersey Institute of Technology). He was an owner-operator for North American Van Lines for many years and moved to Dozier, Alabama in the 1980s.
Carlo was married to Carol Attisano (née Kurinovich), who died in 2023. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his sisters, Maria Marone and Rosanna Mariani. He is survived by his brother George Attisano; his nieces Lucia Mariani, Tina Mariani Theesfeld, Claudia Mariani, and Fran Marone; his nephews Ralph Mariani, Charles Attisano, and William Attisano; and his great-nephew, Matthew Mariani.
Carlo applied his engineering expertise to build his home in Dozier, along with other structures on his property. He had a deep appreciation for classical music by Handel, Beethoven, and Rachmaninov, Broadway musicals, and classic films. He enjoyed traveling to Italy and throughout the U.S.
