Kenneth Douglas Floyd was born on June 20, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up on his parents' farm along with his brother, Roger. He graduated from Robert E. Lee

High School in 1959 and attended Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas. His passion and success with baseball motivated him to transfer to Texas A&M University. He

played in the SWC Championship against the University of Texas and was being scouted by the pros. An injury kept him from pursuing his baseball career, but he

graduated with a major in Kinesiology, a minor in Biology, and a master's in counseling.

Kenny went on to begin his coaching career at O'Henry (now Corbett Middle School) in Schertz, Texas. He moved on to Samuel Clemens High School where he taught

Biology, Physical Science, and Special Education and coached baseball, football, and basketball. He led his teams to several district championships. His love for the game,

along with his students and athletes, allowed him to influence countless individuals as a teacher, coach, and as a sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Kenny was a very humble servant of God. He committed himself to studying scripture and had a particular interest in end times prophesy. Whether you had questions about sports or prophesy, Kenny always had an answer through his coaching experience or that found in the Bible.

Of all of Kenny's accomplishments, he also took pride in his affinity for naps and the uncanny ability to watch an entire football game on mute.

Kenny passed away on October 2, 2025, and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Floyd, three sons, Jimmy, Mike, and David, along with 7 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Monday, October 6. 2025 at Beda Cemetery with Bro. Josh Wilson officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.
