My friend Carlos died on August 31st. He was a special person. We became friends after he retired. We shared an interest in music, and both of us completed the two-year Music Theory course at MPC. The difference between us was that Carlos was a musician, and I was a wanna be. Still we connected. We also connected via the game of golf, which Carlos took up after his retirement. We would play once a week, and then as partners in our PG Golf Club competitions. In fact, in our first tournament as partners, Carlos and I won our Flight. Golf and Music were only a part of our friendship. After our weekly nine holes we would retire to the PG Grill to drink a beer, watch soccer (our other shared love) and talk about literature, music, Mexico and politics. Carlos was a Chilango, a native of Mexico City, and he knew more about the museums and culture than anyone I have ever met. Oh, we both love food, and Carlos could describe meals he had eaten as well as any food critic. I WILL MISS HIM!

Carlos was a wonderful friend and coworker. I shall always have fond memories of our times together. My life is richer having spent time with Carlos.
