It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlos Guzman Sr., a devoted husband, father, mentor, and proud Puerto Rican who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Carlos passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the age of 61, surrounded by his family and love.
There will be a Visitation at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 8am to 10am with a Funeral Service to take place at 10 am. Interment will be at South Park Cemetery.
Carlos was born on October 18, 1963, in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Gloria and Angel Guzman. From a young age, he exhibited a passion for life, an unparalleled work ethic, and a deep love for his roots. Carlos had a special connection to baseball, both as a talented player and as a beloved coach. He dedicated countless hours to mentoring others on and off the field, sharing his wisdom and enthusiasm for the sport he loved so dearly.
A man of many talents, Carlos had a gift for working with his hands, excelling in fixing cars, crafting, and cutting hair. He poured his heart into everything he did, always taking pride in his work and his heritage. He was a proud member of La Luz del Mundo Church, where his faith brought him strength and peace throughout his life.
Carlos faced the challenges of being paraplegic with resilience and courage, never allowing it to diminish his joy or his ability to bring happiness to others. His laughter, positivity, and unwavering strength were constants that inspired everyone who knew him.
Carlos is survived by his beloved wife, Blanca Guzman, his son, Carlos Guzman Jr., and many cherished relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Angel Guzman, who passed away two years earlier. His family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited in peace.
Carlos's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones, his community, and the countless lives he touched through his joy, faith, and passion for life.
Rest in peace, Carlos Guzman Sr. Your light will continue to shine brightly in the memories of those who loved you.
