Carlos Lopez Hernandez, 68, of Imperial, North Fayette Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, in his home with his loving wife by his side.
Carlos was born on September 15, 1956, in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Aguadillia, Puerto Rico. He was the son of the late Neri Lopez and Gloria Hernandez, as well as his late brother, Luis Felipe "Papo" Lopez.
Carlos was a true adventurer at heart. He loved being outdoors and being out in nature. He especially enjoyed spending time at the ocean, all sports, and his 1971 Volkswagen. Carlos was also an American Legion Post 0335 member in Imperial, PA.
Carlos was a retired United States Army Veteran, serving his country for 24 years. He was dedicated to his country and was extremely proud of his time in the service. Before his 24 years of service, Carlos was fortunate enough to meet the love of his life, Maria. The high school sweethearts fell in love and quickly began their lives together. During his time in the U.S. Army, their growing family traveled often. Carlos and Maria always gave their two children extraordinary adventures with each new home they found. He loved his family and being a father was his most important role in life. He was so proud of his children and watching them accomplish and create a beautiful life for themselves was his greatest blessing.
Surviving is his best friend and wife of 47 years, Maria Del Carmen Jimenez Lopez, children, Jean Carlos "JC" Lopez and Natasha (John) Lopez.
All arrangements are private and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 305 Main St., Imperial (724-695-2800). Carlos will be laid to rest at the Atlantic Gardens Veterans Cementary in his hometown of Aguadillia, Puerto Rico.
