Shon Paul Tomnay, 47, of Imperial, North Fayette Township, passed away unexpectedly after fighting courageously through a lengthy illness on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in his home.
Shon was born on May 1, 1978, in Plum a son of Francis and Marianne Bell Tomnay.
Mr. Tomnay was the Senior Regional Human Resources Manager for Vesuvius. He was a dedicated employee and proud of his title within the company.
Shon had the most infectious smile and laugh. He was such a funny person; he could make you laugh without even trying. Shon was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He loved the Peguins, his Pittsburgh Steelers and yes even the Pirates. He was so excited to see them on the up recently as he would cheer them on from home, win or lose. Sports were always something that Shon found great interest in. He was also a big fan of LSU Football and supporting his "bonus sons" is all their sports careers. When Shon married the love of his life, Amy, eight years ago his world was complete. He gained the special relationship of her three boys as his new bonus sons. There was nothing that Shon would not do for Amy and the boys. He loved watching the boys grow and be a part of their lives. He never missed a game, prom, or graduation with the boys. Shon enjoyed most just sitting at home with his family and watching a movie of his choosing, usually Star Wars, Christmas Vacation, and Zootopia.
Amy was the absolute love of his life. The two were fortunate enough to rekindle their young love for each other in adulthood. It was as if no time had passed. Shon loved Amy fiercely and was so thankful to have such a dedicated wife. Their love was so special and such a wonderful example of what a marriage should be.
Surviving along with his parents is his wife, Amy Jones Tomnay. Shon was a "bonus Dad" to Brian, Derek and Jack Curry. Also surviving is his sister, Julie (Ethan) Nelson, parents-in-law, William and Roberta Jones, sister-in-law, Melanie (Jon) Houston, nephews, Luke and Evan Nelson and niece, Mya Nelson, his four-legged pals, Zoe and Mazie and his cousin, who became like a brother, Jake Vehec, and many other special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 11 am – 4 pm at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 305 Main St., Imperial (724-695-2800). A Blessing Service will be held following visitation at 4 pm in the funeral home.
