Carlos De la Hoz, 95, formerly of River Edge, NJ, died on December 23, 2024, just two days after his beloved Benylda. Born on April 24, 1929 in Barranquilla, Colombia, a son of Manuel and Estebania Amador De la Hoz. Carlos is survived by his loving children Rudy (Michele), Carlos (the late Joni), Marlene (Christopher) Bosco, Manuel (Dawn), Herman (Anita); he was an adoring grandfather to twelve grandchildren including Michael (Julie), Carly (Henry), Matthew, Christopher, Andrew, Philip, Joseph, Emily, Dylan, Gabrielle (Matthew), Tyler, Victoria – and two great-grandsons, Leo and Cooper. In addition to his wife, Carlos was preceded in death by his sister, Carmen.
A natural born leader, he worked as the Supervisor for a printing company called Imprint Art in NJ for many years. His grandkids remember his great sense of humor - he always had a joke to tell.
Carlos will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Arrangements for Carlos and Benylda, together, were entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Saturday December 28 from 11am to 12:30 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at Green, 662 Savin Avenue, West Haven, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm in the Church of St. Louis (St. John XXIII Parish), 89 Bull Hill Lane, West Haven, CT. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
