On February 28th, 2025, Carlos Alberto Montano left us to be with the Lord. He was Born in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 14th 1962 to Antonia 'Mama' Flores and Felix 'Papa Beto' Montano. Carlos eventually met the love of his life, his 'Leecha' Elizabeth Montano (née Lopez) in Brooklyn, New York and in 1999 they moved their family to Poughkeepsie, NY. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth along with sons Jamie Suarez, Steven Suarez and sonny, Michael Gattine-Suarez (Marley) along with his "daughter"- his dog Chica. Carlos is also survived by his beloved siblings-sisters Maria Montano, Clara Sanchez and brother, Rafael A. Montano. Carlos is survived by his nieces and nephews who he viewed as his own-nephews Eddie Canales, Robert Canales, Douglas Mayorga, Brandon Mayorga and Carlos Sanchez and nieces Elizabeth Sanchez (Eddie Hernandez), Karina Sanchez. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Rosa Aponte. He is also survived by his favorite generation-his grandkids and great nieces and nephews-which are numerous. Carlos lived his life for his family and his church. He retired from plumbing after dedicating over 30 years to the profession. He enjoyed traveling-from Coney Island to Puerto Rico you could find him near a beach taking in the sun (sometimes a bit too much). Sitting still was not something he knew how to do. He would always find a project to work on. He was committed to making a home where all of those aforementioned people could gather and be a family. He dedicated the last several years of his life to building his relationship with God and was a faithful member of his church where he enjoyed working at the food pantry and doing maintenance around the church. Carlos had a generous heart and was always just seeking out the next opportunity to be of help. He understood 1 Peter 4:10. "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:". Carlos will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his church.
