Mary Lou Davison age 94, of Poughkeepsie, NY died Saturday August 16, 2025 at home,

surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Louis and Anna Debeljak.

She was a 1948 graduate of Villa Angela Academy in Cleveland, Ohio, and St. Mary of the

woods College, in Indiana where she earned her BFA in 1953. She taught art in the Dominican

Schools in San Rafael, California prior to her becoming a Recreation Director for the U.S. Army

Special Services from 1954 to 1956, working first in Kitzingen, and then Bad Hersfeld,

Germany. Mary Lou was a long time parishioner of St Mary's Church Poughkeepsie, NY. She

was a volunteer at the Dutchess County Historical Society answering genealogical requests for

over 27 years, and was also a member of the Slovenian Genealogy Society. Her love of art

extended into designing and crafting Pysanky Ukrainian Easter Eggs. Additionally, while raising

her six children, she and her husband were the owners of Davison Press where she created all the

art and graphic design work as requested by the customers.

In Bad Hersfeld, Germany she met her husband James C. Davison; they were married in June

1957 at St. Christine's Church in Euclid, Ohio. Mary Lou is survived by her six children

Rosemary Davison Kyle of Wappingers Falls, Thomas Davison (Shirley) of Poughkeepsie,

Timothy Davison (Roseann) of Poughkeepsie, Mary Kay Hubert of New Windsor, Carrie

Migliore (James) of Wappingers Falls, John Davison of Poughkeepsie, six grandchildren and

several great grandchildren, her niece Karen Wormald (Dale) and her nephew Todd Strang.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, parents and her sisters Anne Strang, Elizabeth

Shalaty and her nephews Brett and Mitchell Strang.

Calling hours will be held Friday, August 22nd, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle

Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be

held at 10 am on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at St. Mary's Church, Poughkeepsie, New York.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, New York.

The family would like to thank Mary Lou's Hospice team especially JJ, Jenny, Melinda, Kathy,

Jaime and Mary. Your dedication to Mary Lou's care was greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers,

memorial donations may be made to St Mary's Church, 231 Church St. Poughkeepsie, NY

12601, Hudson Valley Hospice or Parkinson's Foundation.
