Carlos Humberto Naranjo Gonzalez, 82, a resident of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Stamford Hospital.
Carlos was born on October 9, 1942, in Cuenca, Ecuador, the beloved son of the late Lauro Joaqui n Naranjo and Carmen Guillermina Gonzalez. He proudly served in the Ecuadorian military and later pursued a successful career in business management. In April of 1993, Carlos immigrated from Ecuador to the United States, where he made his home in Stamford, Connecticut, and became a beloved member of the community.
Carlos had a deep passion for the arts, particularly music. He was an accomplished singer and guitar player and, in 1970, participated in the renowned Conjunto Universitario de Loja, where he shared his love for music with others. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and he found joy in expressing his creativity through artwork. He was also an avid collector of antiques, always appreciating the history and craftsmanship behind each piece. Throughout his life, Carlos embraced his artistic side and encouraged others to do the same.
But it wasn't just his talents that made him special-Carlos was loved by many because he was a beacon of positivity. He was always quick with a joke and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering support touched countless lives. He was there for his loved ones through thick and thin, always ready to offer encouragement or a listening ear.
Above all, Carlos cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was happiest when surrounded by them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Naranjo, and his children: Sandra, Maria, Jessika, Silvia, Tamara, Edwin, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by his siblings Manuel, Carmen, Cesar, and Osvaldo, and all his beloved grandchildren.
Carlos was predeceased by his parents Lauro Joaqui n Naranjo and Carmen Guillermina Gonzalez, and his siblings: Isabel, Juan, and Fanny.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Burial will follow immediately at St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT 06820.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carlos's memory to the Stamford Health Oncology Unit or the Medical School of Residency Program at www.stamfordhealth.org.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kiara Velez of the Residency Program, Dr. Nogan, the Special Procedures staff, Intermediate Care staff, and the Medical

Carlos nacio el 9 de octubre de 1942 en Cuenca, Ecuador, hijo querido de los fallecidos Lauro Joaqui n Naranjo y Carmen Guillermina Gonza lez. Sirvio con orgullo en el eje rcito ecuatoriano y luego siguio una exitosa carrera en la gestio n empresarial. En abril de 1993, Carlos emigro de Ecuador a los Estados Unidos, donde hizo su hogar en Stamford, Connecticut, y se convirtio en un miembro muy querido de la comunidad.
Carlos teni a una profunda pasio n por las artes, particularmente la mu sica. Siempre teni a una broma lista y nunca dudaba en brindar una mano amiga a cualquiera que la necesitara. Su bondad, su risa contagiante y su apoyo inquebrantable tocaron muchas vidas. Siempre estuvo alli para sus seres queridos, dispuesto a ofrecer aliento o escuchar cuando fuera necesario.
Por encima de todo, Carlos atesoraba el tiempo que pasaba con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos, y era ma s feliz cuando estaba rodeado de ellos.
Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Carmen Naranjo, y sus hijos e hijas: Sandra, Maria, Jessika, Silvia, Tamara, Edwin y Elizabeth, asi como sus hermanos: Manuel, Carmen, Cesar y Osvaldo, y todos sus queridos nietos.
Carlos fue precedido en su fallecimiento por sus padres Lauro Joaqui n Naranjo y Carmen Guillermina Gonza lez, y sus hermanos: Isabel, Juan y Fanny.
Se celebrara una misa de cuerpo presente el di a Viernes, 15 de agosto de 2025 a las 10:00 AM en la Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Al final de la misa su cuerpo sera llevado inmediatamente su final morada; St. John Cementary, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT 06820.
