Carlos Andres Perez
August 3, 1962 – November 4, 2024
Carlos was born on August 3, 1962, in Marianao, Cuba. At just three years old, he moved with his family to New Jersey before eventually settling in Miami, where he was surrounded by a large and loving extended family, all living nearby in a close-knit community in Sweetwater.
Carlos is survived by his three daughters, Lauren, Katrina, and Samantha Perez, his four sisters, Juana Baez, Mercy Edinger, Adelfa Perez, Maria Perez, his partner, Maria Christina, and his six beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Carlos and Mercedes Perez.
In his youth, Carlos was an accomplished black belt in martial arts, inspired by his hero Bruce Lee, and kept an active spirit throughout his life. Carlos was a dedicated fan of the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Heat, and the Miami Hurricanes, cheering on his teams with pride. He was also an avid music lover, with an enormous collection of records and cassettes to his name.
He found peace at the beach, where he could often be found with just a beach chair, speaker and cooler nearby. He cherished simple pleasures: cruising the neighborhoods of Miami Beach, Neapolitan ice cream at the end of a long day, and spending time with his two beloved cats, Charlie and Kevin.
Carlos leaves behind cherished memories with his three daughters-afternoons spent launching them off his shoulders into the pool, teaching them how to ride bikes, taking them to Sports Grill to watch the game, and joining them on school field trips. Many holidays were filled with beach vacations across Florida, whitewater rafting in the mountains of Georgia and road-tripping to Disney World.
Carlos also leaves behind his beloved Ticket Clinic family, where he dedicated 15 years with colleagues who felt like family.
Goofy and full of jokes, Carlos brought laughter wherever he went, even in his crankiness. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the quirks that made him so beloved by family and friends.
