Carloyn J. Herner ObituaryCarloyn J. Herner, nee Epperson passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2025 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born July 26, 1940 in California but raised in Cripple Creek, Colorado. She met the love of her life, Warren D. Herner Sr. when she was only 14 years old. They married when she was 16. Together they initially settled in Manitou Springs and had the first two of three boys, Warren Jr. and Daniel. They moved to Security where their third child, Jeffrey was born. They lived there together until Warren's passing in 1999.
Carloyn was an avid collector who enjoyed finding her treasures and displaying them. She had a wild streak as a young woman and could be found "drag racing" on Academy Blvd on a Friday night. She had a wide range of interests from cake decorating to dirt bikes to gardening.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and son, Warren Jr. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Cindy) and Jeffrey (Ellen), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
