Carlton Gene Trimble, 73, died on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at The Ambassador Skilled Nursing Facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Carlton was born in Beaumont, Texas. The eldest son of lawyer Grady Trimble and homemaker Johann. The family moved several times before eventually settling in Kountze, Texas, where Carlton graduated high school in 1970. After some time attending Stephen F. Austin University, he joined the army, spending most of his time stationed in Germany. After being discharged, he studied art at Lamar University. While at Lamar he pursued his interests in design, visual art and photography, eventually earning a bachelor's degree in graphic design in 1979. It was at Lamar where he would meet his future wife, Kathy Ingwersen. The two were married for 17 years and had one son, KC. He was hired by Blue Bell Creameries as a truck driver. He worked for Blue Bell for over 40 years, eventually becoming a supervisor and later a territory manager. During that time, he earned a reputation for going above and beyond to support the drivers he supervised.
Carlton was intelligent and kind, a dedicated and generous friend, a loving brother and uncle, and an incredible father. He was well loved by many and will be remembered for his sharp wit and famous sense of humor. He was something of a renaissance man, pursuing countless interests and hobbies throughout the years. He was a history buff, a film buff, a music lover, a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy, and a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction. Carlton was also a lover of video games and an early adopter of home computer technology. Along with two friends, he formed the software and consulting company Blakmagic Software in the early 1980s and developed multiple games and software utilities for the Atari. He would later go on to work as a beta tester on the pioneering online multiplayer series Air Warrior, combining his knowledge of computers, graphic design background and lifelong love of World War 2 era airplanes. After retiring from Blue Bell in 2015, that love of aviation would lead him to Jenks, Oklahoma where he and a friend opened a hobby shop, specializing in model and RC airplanes. He spent the last 10 years of his life in the Tulsa area and became a fixture in his local hobby community, making many close friends. He was also well-known to his neighbors in Jenks as friendly, funny and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Carlton is survived by his son, KC Trimble of Lumberton, Texas; sister, Robin Geese and husband, Jeff, of Tyler, Texas; and stepbrother, Wayne Daniels and wife, Sue, of Kountze, Texas; niece, Meredith Gadberry and husband, Mason; step-nephews, Rodney Daniels and wife, Gabrina and Brandon Daniels, both of Kountze; step-niece, Shelly Freesmeyer and husband, David, of Kountze; as well as two grandnieces, one grandnephew, two step-grandnieces and one step-grandnephew.
A memorial service for Mr. Trimble will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

I was a teenager when I first met him and his advice was always good. I'll always have fond memories of flying and I'll think of him anytime I take to the air.

Nobaddy and I flew more than a few missions together in DOSAW and onward. He was my friend. We met at a few AW Cons long ago. Those who knew him will miss him. Like watching a squad mate take a flak hit and spiral down thru the clouds below, another Warrior gone :( I hope/pray he is in a better place. -salute- ..to my friend. -Frank P.
