Carlton Levi Wade left this earth on March 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Goldsboro to Walter Ray Wade and Pearl Atkins on January 1, 1943, Carlton was the second-youngest of 12 siblings.
He lived a full life, and believed in working hard to provide for his family. He spent many years as a salesman at Lance Snack Foods before opening his own lawn care company. When gathered with family and friends, he would always tell stories of his time in these roles. Carlton loved the little things in life, whether it was the simple pleasure of scratching off a lottery ticket, or the fun of riding around town in his Mercedes with the top down and his hat and sunglasses on. He loved his family and loved people, and never met a stranger.
Carlton is survived by his three adult children, Carlton Wayne Wade, Lisa Wade Forsyth, and Daniel Levi Wade (Jessica); grandchildren Brandon (Shannon) and Andrew (Ally) Wade; Jared (Morgan) Faircloth; Colin, Haley, Lucas, and Mason Wade; and great-grandchildren Caitlyn and Dixie Wade.
Carlton was preceded in death by his siblings James, Harry, Hiram, Milton, Francis, Louis, Hilda, and Myrtie.
A service for celebrating Carlton's life will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the Wade family will be held one hour prior to the service.
