Carmella "YaYa," "GG," "Gam" Cheatham
Mother • Friend • Confidant
Carmella was called home to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the age of 78.
She was the driving force behind her two daughters, always offering words of encouragement, strength, and faith. Carmella had an unconditional love for her grandchildren - they brought her endless joy. She spoke with them daily, sharing laughter, wisdom, and discipline when needed.
Known for her sharp sense of style and love of fashion, Carmella made her presence known wherever she went. She enjoyed watching football and basketball - especially cheering for her favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also loved volunteering with her building association, playing bingo and Pokeno, catching up with her close friends, and enjoying lunches filled with laughter and love.
Carmella never met a stranger; she was truly a friend to everyone. Her family will deeply miss her drive-bys, check-ins, and thoughtful calls. Her favorite sayings, "I love you to life" and "Love you more," will forever echo in their hearts.
She is survived by her daughters Marley (Thomas King Jr.) and Terrilyn (Marvin Prescott II); her stepson Harley D. Cheatham Jr.; four grandsons - Austen, Tevin, Jorden, and Romen; three granddaughters - Heavenly, Rainlyn, and Priya; four great-grandchildren - Lunden Butler, Ra'Mira Payne, Tru King, and August King; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
This is not goodbye, but "so long for now" until we are together again.
