Carmella M. Tata
"Beloved aunt, great aunt & great-great aunt"
Carmella M. (Valerio) Tata, 92, formerly of the East end and East Gate Apartments, Waterbury, passed away peacefully at the Autumn Lake Healthcare at Bucks Hill, Waterbury. She was the loving wife of the late Alfred M. Tata who passed away in 2004.
Carmella was born in Waterbury on January 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Lucia (Gloria) Valerio. She worked for Armour Meats in Waterbury for many years and she and her husband had a successful upholstery business for many years until her retirement. Carmella enjoyed bus trips to the casino when she was able, walking in the mall, Hallmark movies and family gatherings. She loved her nieces and nephews and helped raise many of her great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her sisters Antionette Rocco and husband John, Catherine Perillo and husband John, brothers Clement Valerio and wife Natalie, Michael Valerio and wife Nicoletta and nephew Anthony Rocco and wife Irene.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Bucks Hill for their compassionate care that was given to Carmella during her stay.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial with the cremains present will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024, at St. Basil the Great Parish ~ St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, CT. Anyone wishing to attend the Mass are asked to meet directly at the Church on Thursday. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT has been entrusted with the services.
