Carmen Moon Atkinson, affectionately known as "Fudd," was born on October 3, 1937, in Francis, Utah, and passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in the same cherished town that held his heart. A devoted father, grandfather, husband, son, and friend, Carmen's life was a testament to hard work, love, and the joy of family.
Carmen was a man of many passions. He found great joy in the outdoors, often spending time hunting, bowling, and golfing with his family and his close-knit group of friends, lovingly referred to as the "Kamas Mafia." His laughter and spirit were infectious, and he created countless memories during these cherished moments.
Among the highlights of Carmen's life was his ownership of the movie theater on Kamas Main Street, a beloved gathering place for the community. He also took pride in his role as a driver for Highland Dairy, where he built lasting relationships and shared his love for the open road. Carmen was particularly proud of Atkinson Trucking, ensuring that the trucks were always ready to go and that his shop was a reflection of his dedication and hard work. He cherished the time spent on the road with his loved ones, creating bonds that would last a lifetime.
Carmen is preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Norma Atkinson; his brothers, Duane and Farrell Atkinson; his grandson, Hayden William Jeffs; and dear friends, Eddie Dahl and Kendall Rockhill. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Atkinson; his children, Julie Sheeran, Mark Atkinson, and Lisa Atkinson; as well as seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his spirit and values.
A celebration of Carmen's life will be held at the Francis Church on October 18th from 10 AM to 12 PM, with a light lunch provided.
Carmen Moon Atkinson will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before him and the memories of a life well-lived.
