Carmen Custodio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc. - New Rochelle on Mar. 2, 2025.
Carmen Rosa Custodio, 99, of New Rochelle, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2025. Carmen was born on July 16, 1925, in Bogota, Colombia and immigrated to the United States as a young lady. She met and wed her husband, Alfredo Custodio in Portugal and they returned to the U.S. to start a family and raise their children. Carmen became a U.S. citizen and has been a resident of New Rochelle for over 60 years. Carmen was a woman of faith, a devote Roman Catholic, and member of St Gabriel's church for many years. She always put the needs of others before her own, freely giving and caring for others beyond her means. Carmen was a kind, loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. Her smile was infectious, her energy was endless, and she always was a pleasure to be around. Carmen had a way with words and could describe the world around her like no other, she was a one of a kind. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Carmen is survived by her three children, Kathleen (David), Alfred (Adzmel), Elizabeth (Paul), her grandchildren, Matthew and Sara, and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo. Visitation will be held at Lloyd Maxcy's on Thursday, March 6th from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm, followed by a funeral mass at St Gabriel's Church on Friday, March 7th at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Maryknoll Lay Missioners.
