Carmen Diaz Obituary
Her husband, Candido Diaz Cotto, passed away in 2007. She leaves her son, Candido Diaz, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Oxford; her two daughters, Maria Diaz-Guadarrama and her husband Luis "Guichy" of Seffner, FL and Norma Diaz-Griffin and her husband Lenton "Ruben" of Evans, GA; three brothers, Jose Ramon, Jorge Flores and David Flores all of Puerto Rico; three sisters, Ramona Flores, Lydia Flores and Esther Flores all of Puerto Rico; her nine beloved grandchildren, Tania Diaz-Dardaine, Zaila Amador, Jorge Amador, Daniel Lorange, Candido Noel Diaz, Luis Gualdarrama, Taina Jackson, Tamica Griffin and Nicholas Diaz; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carmen was predeceased by four brothers, Cheo Flores, Juanito Flores, Tomas Flores and Daniel Flores; three sisters, Maria Socorro Diaz, Emilia Flores and Felicita Flores.
She was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico the daughter of Emiliano and Celestina (Nieves) Flores.
Carmen worked for many years as a supervisor of Housekeeping at the old Worcester City Hospital. She later worked in Tampa, FL at a Shrimp Packing Company prior to retiring years ago.
Carmen enjoyed watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots, cooking, traveling and doing words search puzzles. Her greatest love was her family. Carmen loved to travel to visit and spend time with all of them.
Calling hours for Carmen will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St. with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Burial in Puerto Rico National Cemetery, Bayamón, Puerto Rico will be private and at a later date.
