Carmen "Shoes" Pastore Jr., 90, of New Castle, died, surrounded by his daughters, on June 27, 2025.
Carmen was born on May 14, 1935 in Mahoningtown to the late Carmine and Angeline Pastore. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, whom he married on April 14, 1956, the former Delores Martucci, who passed away on October 1, 2013. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers George and Ralph.
Carmen lived in Akron with family since 2016. He worked for many years as a Foreman for Lockley Machine Company, then the Meyers Boat Company from 1991 to 2013. He is a lifelong member of St. Lucy Parish/Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary's Church, the St. Marguerite Mutual Benefit Society (with whom he was an officer-holder), as well as the Polish Falcons Society.
Survivors include his three children Angela Henzler (Tom), Rosanne Shovlin (Tim), and Jodi Patterson (the late Wayne); his sister, Loretta Ryan; his grandchildren Natalie, Nicole, Tim, Luke, Leah, and Todd; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 3PM to 7PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St., New Castle, PA.
Guests are welcome to the funeral home at 9:30AM Thursday, July 3, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30AM at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary's Church, 124 N. Beaver St. New Castle, PA 16101.
Burial will take place at St. Lucy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the St. Marguerite Beneficial Society.
