Carmen Turkett Obituary
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday (May 20) at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Columbkille Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church at 27 Fall St. Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 1008, Pittsford, NY 14534.
Carmen was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico on November 25, 1925, the first daughter of Joseph and Carmen Torrellas. She grew up in New York City and moved to Seneca Falls in 1944, when she married Frank Turkett. While raising her family and for many years after, she worked at Gould Pumps as an administrative secretary. Carmen and Frank were active in Trinity Church for many years until his passing in 1983. Family was everything to Carmen.
Carmen is survived by her devoted son, Douglas (Carol) Turkett; grandchildren, Matthew Turkett and Laura Turkett, all of Rochester; sister, Aida (Gary) Ostermann of Penn Yan; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and extended family.
Carmen joins in Heaven, her parents; husband, Frank; brothers, Jack, Robert, Frank, Ralph and Joseph Torrellas; and sister, Anita Tosado; She is also predeceased by her stepchildren, Paul Turkett and Rose Marie Hamilton.

CARMEN WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON. I REMEMBER TAKING HER PLACE AT GOULD PUMPS WHILE SHE WAS OUT VERY HARD TO HELP IN CARMENS ABSENCE AS SHE WAS JUST TO ORGANIZED. SHE WILL DEEPLY MISSED. OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY!

To the family of Carman. I met her when my mom Alice would go and sit with her for a couple hours a day. Carman was delightful! She had a great sense of humor. She loved the Lord deeply. It was interesting to hear about her young life with her husband and son. She adored them both. May the Lord bless you all and may His peace be upon you as you mourn her.
