Carmen M. Vidal, 82, of Carteret passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Carmen settled in New Jersey 66 years ago, first in Jersey City and most recently in Carteret. She was a loving, caring, strong and independent person who devoted her life to raising and caring for her family, including her three children. Carmen attended design school and enjoyed drawing and sewing and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.

Carmen is survived by her children, Maria M. Cruz with her husband Ismael, Ivette Brito and Ernest Vidal; grandchildren, Erica, Elizabeth, Lisa Marie, Ernest, Jr., Jared and Ethan; great grandchildren, Neriyah and Ayla Beth; siblings, Genoveva, Luz, Milta and Monserrate along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Carteret. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
