Carmon Stover, 84 of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at The Waters of Union City in Union City, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, April 14, 1940, in Obion County, Tennessee, he was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Avery "Daddy" Stover and the late Amanda Pearl Barton Stover. He was a cherished member of a large and loving family.
Carmon was a man of many talents and passions. He found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending countless hours fishing and tending to his garden. His green thumb was a testament to his patient and nurturing spirit.
Mr. Stover was a retired employee of Ermco. Later in life, he discovered his calling as a funeral director associate, a role through which he brought comfort and compassion to countless families during their time of need. He was proud to be a member of Masonic Lodge # 93 of Dyersburg, an organization that reflects strong values and dedication. He attended Minnick Bible Church for many years and later attended the Newbern Methodist Church.
Funeral Services for Mr. Stover will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Archie Larry. Private family committal services will follow at Minnick Cemetery in the Minnick Community. Visitation for Mr. Stover will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Prince Stover of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sons, Jeff Stover of Paducah, Kentucky and Brent Stover of Union City, Tennessee; four daughters, Darlene Fultz (Chad) of Obion, Tennessee; Donna Sowell of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Theresa Gilliam (Billy) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Kim Whitson (Allen) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Peyton Stover, Avery Stover, Ivy Belew (Monte), Megan Barker (Shane), Seth Whitson (Thu), Jennifer Boyd (Tyler) and Kirt Bargery (Kelly) and five great grandchildren, Woods Rogers, Walker Rogers and Claire Boyd, Brady Boyd and Kenneth Bargery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Oren Stover, Bernie Stover, Willard Stover, Earl Stover, Richard Stover, Ealon Stover and Barton Stover, four sisters, Legretta Blurton, Ouida Yates, Loretta Stover and Mattie Stover and daughter in law, Denise Long Stover.
Honoring Mr. Stover as pallbearers will be Glenn Stover, Lucas Hamilton, Byron Stover, Shane Stover, Ray Stover and Jessie Stover.
