Carol Ann Annis, age 80, of Mapleton, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 9, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mapleton with visitation starting at 8:30am. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Carol was born August 21, 1944 in Mankato to Walter and Ethel (DeRemer) Rader. She graduated high school in 1962 from Waldorf – Pemberton.
Carol was united in marriage to Robert Annis on August 5, 1967 in Alma City. As newlyweds, they went to Mapleton and began farming. At one time, Carol and Robert farmed 1,200 acres and built their home in 1983. She worked very hard and was able to did a lot of the farming, as well as, manage the bookwork for the farm. Carol enjoyed counted cross stitch, reading, and going to play Bingo with her sister, Loretta, and the girls. She was a skilled card player and enjoyed playing with family and friends. Carol also enjoyed going to Arizona with Robert for the winters and spending quality time with her family. She and Robert were longtime members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mapleton.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Douglas) Schmidt; son, Terry Annis; grandsons, Dustyn (Ciara) Schmidt, Dillon (fiancé, Danielle Taylor) Schmidt, Dalton Schmidt, and Dawson Schmidt; sister, Loretta Ward; sister-in law, Cheryl Rader; nieces and nephews, Peggy (Jerry) Ward, Sharon (Chuck) Manning, Kathy (Terry) Vipond, Debby (Paul) Knewtson, Lorry (Bruce) Denn, Ronald (Kathy) Rader, Richard “Ricky” Rader, Larry (Sandra) Rader, Duane (Becca) Rader, Dennis (Kelly) Rader, Roxanne (Mike) Schlasner, Michael (Joyce) Hummer, Mark (Heidi) Hummer, and Vickie (Bryce) Walters; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ethel Rader; husband, Robert Annis; son, Timothy “Tim” Annis; and brothers Donald (Delores) Rader, and Allan Rader.
