Carol was born on October 30, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana to JD and Geraldine Cameron and passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, in Shreveport.

Carol was married for 60 years to the love of her life, Carl Barr. She worked for the state for over 30 years. Carol and Carl enjoyed traveling in their RV throughout the USA. Carol enjoyed gardening and was a master gardener. She was a kind and giving person, always remembering her family and friends’ special occasions, and loved hosting get-togethers. She loved Mardi Gras, LSU and Saints football and loved eating and cooking Louisiana cuisine. She even won a crawfish eating contest! Over the years, she loved making memories and enjoyed laughter.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, JD and Geraldine Cameron; and her brother-in-law, Larry Scoppa. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carl Barr; sister, Bettye Lou Scoppa, of Florida; brother, Danny Cameron and wife, Linda, of Georgia; and two nephews, James and Roger Cameron, of Shreveport.

Honoring Carol as pallbearers will be Lee Hardy, Russell King, James Ridout, Josh Studebaker, Barney Barger, and Nick Jordan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Danny Cameron, Andres Gomez, Mike Roland, Mark Roland, and Jesus Rodriguez.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Willis-Knighton South ER and Dr. Harris, and Willis-Knighton South ICU and Dr. Prime and staff for all the care and compassion given to Carol. The family wants to express special thanks to her caregiver, Mary Carrillo, and 4 Paws friend, “Millie.”

Carol will be terribly missed by her family and friends, but no doubt she is in Heaven doing this, that, and the other.
