Carol Sue "Sissy" Barrett, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Carol was amazing, loving, caring, always protected her family, and told it like it was. She was very outgoing & outdoorsy, loved her dogs and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She volunteered at Cabbage Patch Settlement House for many years where she went camping and fishing. She cared for her brother until her last day. Carol was very strong her whole life and was always working to better herself. She never met a stranger and will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was born on December 2, 1960 in La Grange, Kentucky to Ralph and Myrtle (McIntosh) Tomlinson. She is preceded in death by her Father, Ralph Doug Tomlinson and Mother, Myrtle Fay Tomlinson.
Carol is survived by her loving Husband of 14 years, Anthony W. Barrett, Sr.; Children, William Stewart, Jr., Christine Barrett, Julie (DaJuan) Edwards, and Anthony (Tiffany) Barrett, Jr.; Grandchildren, Abigail Gibson, Tessa Mitchel, Savannah Barrett, Anthony Barrett, III, Jayda Wheatley, and Noah Barrett; Siblings, Calvin Tomlinson, Beth Tomlinson, and Sandra Tomlinson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory forever.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
The family requests that contributions in Carol’s memory be made to Tony and family.
