With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Bothwell, age 81, who departed this life on Friday, October 11, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Carol was so much more than a mother and grandma she was a cherished Gigi, a beloved sister, and a dear friend to many. Her vibrant spirit lit up any room she entered, her love for life infectious. Carol found in the simple pleasures—listening to music, riding motorcycles, dancing, indulging in bingo nights, crafting beautiful creations, and setting off on adventurous outings. Even in her later years, she retained a childlike wonder, reminding us all to embrace life fully and joyously.
Born on October 21, 1942, in Crestwood, Kentucky, to Elmer and Elnora (Thompson) Gore, Carol was a force of nature with an outspoken personality that endeared her to those fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted family member whose greatest happiness stemmed from the laughter and love shared with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her children: Tony (Heather), Buck (Paula), Angela, Rick (Fay), Laura and Veronica (Chris); her cherished grandchildren; and an abundance of great-grandchildren who brought her such joy. She also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Junior and David, and her sister, Barbara.
