Carol Ann Botting, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2025. She was born on November 6, 1942 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late John and Elena (Pasquale) Muldowney. Carol was a graduate of St. Paul's School in Binghamton where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed hanging out at The Hex Diner on the weekends and Joe's Snack House at lunch time. Carol loved to bowl and at a young age bowled in leagues. After high school, she took pride in her job as a switchboard operator at a Binghamton Telephone Company. All of which paled in comparison to her love of being a devoted wife to Dick and her six children. She created a beautiful life in Chenango Bridge surrounded by friends and family. Even after her husband passed away in January 2000, and her children were grown, everyone looked forward to holidays at Grandma Bot's. Her Italian feast and holiday cookies, especially her pizzelles were legendary! Carol was never an extravagant person. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like shopping and lunch with her sisters or just coffee and conversation at her kitchen table. Everyone was welcome. Her ever-present quiet dependability is an enormous loss to all that loved her.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband Richard, her son Mark, her daughter-in-law Susan Cashman Botting, her brother James Muldowney, and her sister Elaine Columbus. She is survived by her sons Rick, Mike, Thomas, and Matthew, and her daughter Lori (Mike) Pourby; ten grandchildren, Lindsey Botting, Ryan Botting, Tate (Julia) Botting, Richard (Kristy) Botting, Lexi Pourby, Webb Botting, Mikayla Pourby, Riley Botting, Mariela Pourby, and Madelyn Botting; three great-grandchildren, Luna DeRitis, Wyatt and Waylan Botting; her sisters Lorraine Allore and Kathy (James) Fitch; her brothers-in-law Albert Columbus, Phil Botting, Roger (Beverly) Botting, her sister-in-law Kathy Muldowney, many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caring aides who provided comfort and support for Carol, allowing her to remain in her home.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1031 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Carol's life at 11:00 A.M. in the church. Private interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
