Carol Ann Trice Brooks was born on November 5, 1953, in Upson County, Georgia. She passed away in Macon, Georgia, following a brief illness.
Carol was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Trice. She graduated from R. E. Lee Institute and later continued her education at Georgia College in
Milledgeville, Georgia, where she completed graduate studies.
In her younger years, Carol developed a deep love for ballet. She trained in dance and found joy and freedom in expressing herself through movement. She danced in The Nutcracker for many years. Ballet always held a special place in her heart, and she often spoke fondly of her days dancing.
Carol lived an active and healthy life. She was a dedicated fitness enthusiast and loved working out at Ryan Goldsby Fitness One on One Personal Training Studio. She enjoyed watching classic movies, listening to podcasts, exploring positive YouTube channels, reading, and playing pickleball. One of the highlights of her day was coming home and playing frisbee with her beloved dog, Charlie.
Carol retired after years of dedicated service with Central State Hospital in
Milledgeville, Georgia, and Georgia Support Services in Dublin, Georgia.
Throughout her life, Carol formed meaningful relationships with many people who were dear to her heart, including Mr. Kerry Smith, Mr. Ryan Goldsby, Mrs. Sheryl Pry, Ms. Cassandra Kinslow, and her longtime friend and sister in spirit, Mrs. Barbara Crutchfield.
She especially loved spending time talking with her two little men, Jayce Tippit Smith and West Goldsby, who brought her great joy.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Dean Brooks, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Trice, and her sisters in law, Judy Hutcheson and Janice Brooks White.
She is survived by her in-laws, stepchildren Travis Brooks and his wife Dora, and Hali Brooks and her husband Josh. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Wayne Brooks, Annette Bacon and Elder Kurt Bacon, Gail Roberson and James Roberson, Jean Babb and Curtis Babb, Penny Brantley and Lee Brantley, and her brother in law Tom Hutcheson.
Carol will be remembered for her grace, strength, love of movement and learning, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Services will be held on Friday, January 9th at 4:00 p.m. at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Friday from 3:30 until 4:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
