Carol C. (Fama) Brousseau, of Malden, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 25, 1940, in Boston, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Maurice and Josephine (Navaro) Fama of Somerville, and sister of the late Leonard Fama of Melbourne, Florida. She was the devoted wife of the late Paul J. Brousseau of Dracut.
Carol spent her early years in Boston's West End before her family moved to Somerville, where she attended local schools and graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1958. She and Paul made their home in Stoneham, where they raised their family together before later settling in Malden.
For the past 13 years, Carol was a cherished resident of the Monsignor Neagle Apartment Complex, where she formed many friendships and remained active in her community. A proud breast cancer survivor, Carol's strength and optimism inspired everyone who knew her.
Carol was the devoted mother of Stacey (Brousseau) Ventre and her husband Joe of Melrose, and Steven Brousseau and daughter in-law Kristin Brousseau of Bridgewater. She was the adored grandmother of Joseph Ventre and his wife Sarah (Graham) of Wakefield, Jessica Ventre of Melrose, and Griffin, Hannah, and Cole Brousseau of Bridgewater. She also leaves behind her grandchildren's significant others, Joe Paratore and Lester Smith-Torres, all of whom brought her great joy.
Carol loved spending time with her family, dining out, and enjoying a nice glass of wine. Independent and full of life, she was always on the go-whether meeting friends, celebrating holidays, or enjoying her favorite pastime: Christmas Eve dinners with her family, which she made truly special every year.
Carol had a deep love for animals, the beach, and the occasional trip to a casino, where her lively spirit shined through.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering love for her family. She touched many lives with her warmth and generous heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 9:00AM-11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's memory to Breast Cancer Awareness organization, honoring her strength and courage.
