Carol L. Brousseau

Carol L. (Michaud) Brousseau, 88, of Wyoming, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Westerly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence H. Brousseau, Jr. Born in Providence, RI on November 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Evelyn (Truchon) Michaud.

Carol worked for years as a cashier at JJ Newberry's in West Warwick, RI, before leaving to become a full-time homemaker and raise her children. When the children were older, she worked for St. Joseph's Parish in Hope Valley as a caretaker of the church and rectory. She later worked for her sister Jeanne in Watch Hill, helping to take care of her store. She continued to be devoted to St. Joseph's through the years and was an active member of the parish. She loved music and singing, especially songs from her favorite movie, "The Sound of Music". She loved her family was devoted to all.

She leaves her sons David Brousseau of Wakefield, R.I. and Scott Brousseau of Richmond, RI. In addition, she leaves a daughter-in-law Debra, 3 step-children; 5 great grandchildren, 5 siblings, Jeannie of Hope Valley, Kenneth, Paul, Armand, & Kathleen, all of Richmond. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, as well as a very large extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1105 Main St., Hope Valley, RI 02832 followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI for the committal prayers. All are welcome to gather for a calling hour prior to the mass from 9:30am to 10:30am at S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI 02832.
