Canandaigua – Carol (Wheeler) Caskey, age 67, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Daniel Caskey; two daughters, Deidra (Daniel) Davis and Brianna (Isaac) Davis; two grandsons, Jaxson and Macklin Davis; mother, Elizabeth Trim; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Lee) Thomason and Linda (Don) Wesley; brothers-in-law, Russ (Ruby) Caskey, Rick Caskey and Ken Storan; many nieces and nephews; grandpups, Lucy, Bella and Luna. She was predeceased by her father, Harold A. Wheeler in 1978; sister, Marlene Reynolds in 2022; and sister-in-law, Sue Storan.

Carol lived in Canandaigua for most of her life. She was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1975. Carol attended Alfred State University, where she studied business for one year. She married Dan, the love of her life, on June 28, 1980 in Canandaigua. They were inseparable and did everything together. Dan and Carol raised their family in Carol's childhood home. She adored her two beautiful daughters.

Carol started her public service by working as a Community Aide for Ontario County in a temporary capacity from 1978-1979. From there, she started her full-time career as a typist in the Ontario County Treasurer's Office and handled all financial aspects of the county. In 1990, she was promoted to Audit Clerk and in 2004, her position was reclassified to Senior Account Clerk for the finance department. Carol retired in April of this year after 46 years with the county. She wanted to spend more time with her family and grandchildren. Carol enjoyed camping, shopping and taking family vacations to Myrtle Beach. She loved to decorate her home and workspace for every season and holiday. Carol made everything so festive. She will be remembered as a caring and giving person who made everything feel special.

Friends may call Thursday, September 11, from 5-7 pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 10727, Rochester, NY 14610. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
