Carol Derry Obituary
Carol Linda Derry, age 78, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Carol was born on July 1, 1946 to her parents the late John Hurley Jr. and Essa Mae Thacker Hurley. She was the wife of the late Scotty Derry, a retired administrative assistant for Pikeville College and Pike County Home Health and Hospice, and a member of the Pikeville Freewill Baptist Church.
Along with her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by one infant sister, Brenda Hurley.
Carol is survived by one daughter, Cathy Lynn Derry, two brothers, Larry Randall Hurley and Greg Hurley, and a host of loving family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jim Patton, Melvin Thompson, and Kenny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Ky.
