Dianna L. Derry, 71, Gas City, passed away at 5:04 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Community Hospital Anderson. She was born in Richmond, Kentucky, on Thursday, January 6, 1955, to Virgil and Alice (Caudill) Hall. On October 24, 1984, she married Michael Derry.
Dianna graduated from Huntington North High School and was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God and the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization. She worked as an office clerk with the social security office, the VA Medical Center, and the US postal service. She retired in January 1994 after 20 years. She loved reading and was obsessed with history and ancestry. She enjoyed playing card games like Euchre, Rook, and Canasta; and was a Pacers basketball fan. Reggie Miller was her favorite player. She loved listening to 60's music and going to the movies, she and Michael went every week together. Above everything, family was her priority. She was always there for everyone for everything; she lived her life in service for others.
Along with her husband of over 40 years, Michael, she is also survived by her daughters, Alison (Josh) McCorkle of Gas City, Angela (Kris) Rhamy of LaFontaine; son, David (Jennifer) Derry of Kendallville; grandchildren, Emilynn McCorkle, Emmit McCorkle, Kenzie (Brandon) Wilson, Tanner Rhamy, Jarrett Rhamey, Katie (Johnathan) Jones, Keeley Vaught, Keegan Derry, and Kiera Derry; great-grandchild, Jayce Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Hall, Sr. and Alice Hall; and brother, Virgil Hall, Jr.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Dianna's life will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel. Rev. Jerry Gallaway will be officiating with burial following at Marion National Cemetery.
