Cassandra Michelle "Cassey, Cat" Derry

Cassandra Michelle "Cassey, Cat" Derry age 23, of Alma passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at her home.

She was born June 4, 2002, in Alma, the daughter of Stephen Derry and Julie Britten. She was a 2021 graduate of St. Louis High. She excelled in volleyball, playing for several club teams and St. Louis High School, before playing volleyball for Finlandia University in Hancock, Michigan. Cat was a member of 4 H for many years.

Cassey enjoyed listening to music, being outdoors riding country trails and motorcycling. She was very artistic and creative and enjoyed drawing. Cat was a member of the St. Louis VFW Auxiliary and the Southwest Michigan AMS and NWA Chapter. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her children.

Cassey is survived by her children Trisha Marie, Blake Robert and their father Timmy Borst; her parents Stephen Derry, Julie (Rick Young) Derry; grandma Linda Derry and many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and her cat Lucky.

She was preceded in death by her sister Tricia Lynn; grandparents Alvin and Patricia Britten; and a great-grandma Phyllis Derry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2 pm at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma with Pastor Jut Daron officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Oakgrove Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 pm until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in care of Julie Derry and Stephen Derry to set up a trust for her children.
