Carol S. Domain, 92, a beloved longtime resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on October 2, 2025. She was born on January 22, 1933 in Chicago to William and Bertha Cannaven. A talented artist known for her warmth, creativity and gentle spirit, Sue filled her life with color and kindness. Her art touched those around her- whether through her paintings, or the way she made everyone feel welcome in her home. She was the beloved wife of Raymond Domain and the romantic companion of Jerry Winters.
Carol is survived by her children, Will (Kathy) Domain of Lake Villa, IL, Margaret (James) Rosemeyer of Spring Grove, IL, Tim Domain of Plano, TX, and Mary Vohasek of McHenry, IL; her grandchildren, Tim (Rebecca) Rosemeyer, Mary (Danny) Woods, April (Victor) Holbein, Michael Vohasek, Scott Vohasek, Raymond Vohasek, Lauren (Mark) Ajemian, Nolan (Katie) Domain, Rachel Merz, Robin Merz, Ryan Domain, Kevin (Sarah) Domain, and Kyle Domain; her great grandchildren, Rowan Holbien, Harris Holbein, Ethan Domain, Caleb Domain, Baxton Michael Juton; and Luna May Merz-Ackerman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Domain; her daughter, Sarah Porter Domain; and her grandson, Erick Domain.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gilbert catholic Church, 301 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 11:00am. A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 4pm until 6pm. Interment will be held privately.
