Carol Jean Finnell, of Klamath Falls, Oregon, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, surrounded by family and love.
Born on May 15, 1939, in Leavenworth, Washington, to Alvin and Loree Boswell, Carol lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a heart that embraced everyone she met. In April 1961, she married William Finnell in Ashland, Oregon, and together they moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon and built a family full of love and laughter. William and Carol were married for 47 years before William passed away in 2008.
Carol was a loving mother to her children, Douglas Finnell and Debbie Finnell, and a bonus mom to Sheri (Matt) Kinnan. Her heart expanded even further for her grandchildren of the heart, Mikayla (Sullivan) Stevens, Trevor (Tori) Garrard, and Tyler (Sabrina) Garrard, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren of the heart, Maven, Nessa, and Killian Stevens. Carol's love also reached across the world, touching the lives of numerous German and Norwegian exchange students who, along with their families, became part of her extended family. She is also survived by her sister Shirley South, niece Cindy Vaughn, and nephew Michael Finnell
Carol was known for her gracious spirit and thoughtfulness. Whether she was offering a much-needed hug, lending a helping hand, or showing up with a bag of doughnuts just when it was needed most, her love was always on display. She had a gift for making people feel cared for and at home and there was always room for one more at the table.
Her warmth, humor, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her. Carol's love is a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family would like to invite friends and family to a celebration of life luncheon for Carol on Saturday November 1, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Fellowship Hall at Hope Lutheran Church in Klamath Falls.
