Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday April 15th from 10 AM until 12 noon.
A Memorial Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated 12:30 PM at St. Mary's Church.
Carol Ann Gioia, 69, passed away Wednesday April 10, 2024 at Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park. She was born November 23, 1954 in Brooklyn, a daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Malsy.
Carol worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In her earlier years she was a CCD teacher at St. Peter's in Rosendale. She was an avid bowler. She enjoyed her quiet time reading and spending time gardening and was devoted to N/A.
Surviving are her three daughters Jennifer Kaskas and her husband Omar of Aldie, Virginia, Patricia Gioia of Chesterfield, Virginia and Lisa Richter and her husband Wayne of Kingston. Her four grandchildren whom she had a great love for- Tarec, Dominic, DeAira and Lucas. Siblings Victoria Gilroy, Raymond Hansen and his wife Susan, Richard Hansen and his wife Pina. Many nieces and nephews as well as Carol's companion Troy North also survive.
In addition to her parents, a brother John Malsy predeceased her.
Flowers are welcome, the family suggests plants or living arrangements that they may take home and nurture in honor and memory of Carol. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made in the form of contributions to Ulster County SPCA-20 Wiedy Road Kingston NY 12401 or Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington Street, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
