Carol Anne Gipe, 70, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Wellspan York Hospital. Born August 2, 1955, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Wilma Peckman Young.
Carol was a 1973 graduate of James Buchanan High School. Early in her life she worked various jobs and later was employed as a dental assistant, up until a life changing car accident in 1994. Carol was a member of King Street Church where she attended and was an active member of the Reflections Sunday School class. She was a former member of Chambersburg Brethren In Christ Church. Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing the organ, singing in the church choir, sewing, riding motorcycle with her husband, and camping.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Stanley R. Gipe, whom she married on January 22, 1977; two children, Trina Snoke (husband George), and Troy Gipe (wife Sherry), both of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren, Maekaila Snoke, Maddie Buselli (Peyton), Morgan Snoke, Jarrett Gipe, Reece Gipe, Max Gipe and Lilliana Gipe; one great granddaughter, Georgia Buselli; one brother, Timothy Young (wife Debbie) of Chambersburg; her sister-in-law, Nancy Young of St. Thomas; and two “adopted” grandchildren, Levi and Isabella Brantner. Aside from her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Young.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Kevin Witter, Rev. Ken Hepner, Rev. Aaron Perry, and Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Gipe’s Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday evening, December 8, 2025 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
