Carol Shropshire Iulo
Age 82, of Horseheads NY, formally of Milford, CT passed away on Friday January 5th 2024. She was born in New York City on January 14th 1941. Joining her husband James, of 54 years who predeceased her on October 21st 2014. Carol moved to Newtown, CT in 1963 and later lived in Bethel and Brookfield CT, where she raised her two children. For 25 years Carol worked at the Institute of Children's Literature in Redding, CT. Carol and her husband Jim often spent their winters in the Port Charlotte, FL.
Carol is survived by her daughter Kendra (Dan) Griswold of Horseheads, NY, son Colonel James (Jennifer) Iulo, USMC (Ret.) of Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren Kyle Griswold, Emily (Geoff) Chapman, Alexander and Katherine Iulo; and her great granddaughter Evalynn Chapman. She is also survived by her sister Gail Ravlavsky of Milford, CT, brother Gary Shropshire of FL, along with several nieces, nephews and her closest friends Kathleen Paskus of Shelton CT, Patricia Najjar of Oxford, CT and Claire Brown of Danbury, CT.
Carol is predeceased by her parents Harry and Catherine Shropshire, sisters Joan Zeek and Sandra Shropshire, along with her brother Ronald Shropshire.
The family will have a celebration of life for family and friends announced at a later date, at Kings Highway Cemetery in Milford, CT.
