Carol Zimmerman Ives, 70, of Lakeway, TX formerly of Washington, IL passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, following a short illness. Carol was born November 30, 1952, in Peoria, IL to Clarence and Lois Zimmerman, and raised in Washington. She married Mark E. Ives on August 1, 1976, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington.
She is preceded in death by her husband and survived by her children, son, David Ives (US Army retired) of Austin, TX; daughter Katherine Ives of Austin, Texas; and sister Jane Zimmerman Alkire of Fairbanks, Alaska.
Carol graduated from Washington High School in Washington in 1970. She attended the University of Illinois where she earned her BA in English Literature in 1976. Carol completed additional courses in Accounting at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis.
She was an avid enthusiast of Louis Vuitton and other luxury handbags and turned her passion and hobby into a thriving business, opening CarolDiva; a handbag authentication service.
In her spare time, she loved spending time with her children and dogs. She was an avid reader and lifelong history lover especially Roman, Greek, and British history. She also enjoyed taking vacations to Disney World and driving through the Texas Hill Country in her beloved Mini Cooper.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be one-hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials for Carol may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
