Marilyn J. Brhel, 94, of Metamora, IL formerly of Washington, IL passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Synder Village in Metamora.
She was born on November 22, 1930, in Peoria the daughter of Leo R. and Goldie M. Fendrick Clark. She married Robert "Bob" A. Paxson on September 12, 1950. He passed away on October 7, 1993. She then married John J. Brhel Sr. on November, 16, 1996. He passed away on May 1, 2008.
Surviving is her daughter, Joan A. Paxson and her son, Jospeh R. (Melinda) Paxson. Also surviving is a cousin William "Bill" Jones of Carmel, IN. She was preceded in death by one son John "Jack" C. Paxson, one step-son John Brhel Jr. and one step daughter Kathleen Brhel.
Marilyn graduated from Washington Community Highschool in 1949 and attended Eureka College where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority Pi Chapter.
After several secretarial positions, she retired from Edward Jones Brokerage House in 1984.
She served as past president of the Apostolate Catholic Women of Mt. Alverno, a member of the Washington Historical Society board and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for many years.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Synder Village Retirement Home and OSF Hospice who tended to Marilyn's care while she was a resident.
While there will be no public services, her family and friends will gather at a later date to honor her life. Her family invites you to share your stories and memories of Marilyn. Mason-White Funeral HOme in Washington has been entrusted with her services
