Carol Fisher Jones, 81, went home to be with her beloved Jesus on September 12, 2024. Born on May 3, 1943, to the late Charles Woodrow Fisher, Sr. and Virginia Hutchinson Fisher. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Patti Schwanke and a brother, Larry Fisher. She leaves behind a cherished legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, Carol was a beacon of faith and encouragement to many.
Her career spanned over eleven years with the Haywood County School System, culminating in her retirement from Lake Junaluska Elementary in 1991. Carol was not only an educator but also a passionate Minister of Music at both North Canton Baptist Church and Ridgeway Baptist Church. She infused her teachings and musical talents with the joyous spirit of her faith, taking every opportunity to share the message of God's grace through her singing and instruction.
Her roles extended beyond music as she embraced the position of Bible Study Teacher across multiple congregations, including North Canton Baptist, Ridgeway, and Good New Baptist Church, where she ultimately became a member. Her dedication to sharing the word of God and her deep love for her community were defining characteristics of her life, and she used her gifts to touch countless lives.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Locke Jones; her daughters, Tricia Jones Bond (Terry) and Lorri Jones Patton (Jesse); her brother, Charles Fisher, Jr. (Sandy); and her cherished grandchildren, Chelsea Bond, Dylan Bond (Megan), and Ashley Patton. The profound impact she made on their lives will continue to be felt and celebrated.
Carol’s vibrant spirit, genuine kindness, and unwavering faith serve as an indelible reminder to all who had the pleasure of knowing her about the beauty of a life lived in service to others and to God. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of many, and her legacy of love, music, and faith will continue to inspire those she left behind.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford Ray Memorial Gardens. A visitation to honor Carol’s life will be held from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Jones has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
