Jerry graduated in 1965 from Clyde High School, where he met Linda Ray and immediately fell in love; they were a match made in heaven. After retiring, Jerry dedicated himself to serving his community through volunteer service, volunteering at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Killen, AL.

In his free time, Jerry loved to travel on his motorcycle. He and his wife Linda, logged 130,000 miles traveling to all 50 states on their Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Renee Haney; son Paul Haney (Mistie); granddaughter Madison Haney; grandson, Kris Haney (Mahaila); granddaughter, Bethanie Haney; granddaughter Lauren Sutton (Dylan); great-grandsons Morallis Haney and Shepherd Sutton; and a sister Jean Queen (Keith); many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Janelle Haney, and his loving wife, Linda Ray Haney.
