Carol J. Keefer

Carol J. Keefer, formerly of Lewisburg passed away on February 9, 2026 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. Born in Middleburg on June 26, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Elsie A. (Herman) Swinehart. She was married on September 27, 1958 to Ned E. Keefer Sr. who preceded her in death on July 16, 2014.

Carol was a 1958 graduate of Milton High School; she had worked at the Milton Shoe Factory until it closed and then worked as a custodian at Bucknell until she retired in 2002. She was of Lutheran faith. Carol enjoyed going to yard sales and thrifting. She was an Elvis fan. Her family always enjoyed her cooking and baking, and Carol loved her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Judy Keefer of New Columbia; two granddaughters, Stacy Embeck and husband, Daniel of New Columbia, and Brandy McGee and husband, Peter of New Columbia; a sister, Shirley Wagner of Dewart; four great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.

Carol was also preceded in death by her son, Ned "Butch" Keefer, Jr.; two brothers, John and Clarence Swinehart; two sisters, June Heddings, and Jean Boop; and a great grandson, James McGee.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, February 16 at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev John E. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia
