Passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the age of 80. She was born on July 3, 1945 in Elmira, New York to the late John Connelly and Dorothy Lepkowski Connelly.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Michael Kossmann; her daughter and best friend, Lisa Guyer of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren John Guyer of Horseheads, NY, Megan Lawson and great-granddaughter Camellia of Hershey, PA; brother Jerry (Helen) Connelly of Punta Gorda, FL; nieces Kathy Carter of Fairport, NY and Debra Connelly of Santa Clara, CA and her cousin Darlene "Winky" (Otto) Generas of Simsbury, CT.

Carol was an incredibly selfless, loving and giving homemaker, who was an excellent cook, devoted nurse, and loved her family deeply. A devout animal lover who enjoyed her many pets over the years. She was also known for having a green thumb, and loved taking care of her plants and being outside working in her gardens and listening to the birds. Carol was a very strong soul, who was very stubborn, but in a good way. Her dream of becoming a registered nurse was fulfilled in 1986, when she graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing alongside her daughter Lisa. She also loved her little home in the country, with her family and dogs there with her, all of whom will miss her very much.
