Carol Ann Kreiss, age 54, went to be with her Lord on February 18, 2025 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on May 6, 1970, in Peekskill, New York, to Stewart and Frances Bowen. She was raised in Coldspring, NY along the Hudson River with her siblings Clifford, Andrew, Mary (Chris Perry), Robert, and Katherine (Anthony Lanni). Carol grew up in a small town community and had fond memories. At Haldane high school, she was a softball player and cheerleader. Later, she graduated Katharine Gibbs in New York and attended Triton College after moving to Illinois. On a lucky visit to West Point with her dear friend Amy, she met Sgt. Steven Kreiss. After one impromptu car ride and many dates to follow, they were engaged six months later. While Steve completed his degree at NIU, Carol worked at Aon Corporation in downtown Chicago. On October 13, 1991, Carol married her loving husband Steve, and they raised their family in Oswego, Illinois. More than anything, she was a wife and mother who loved without limits. Her children, Madeleine (27), Emma (24), and Grace (21), were her greatest masterpiece, and she nurtured them with wisdom, laughter, and endless adventures. She taught them to dream, be kind, and face lifes challenges with strength and compassion. She will be forever cherished by her family and all who knew her.As a faithful member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, Illinois, Carol played drums on the praise team. She was deeply committed to supporting Cross Lutheran School, where all three of her daughters attended. She served as a teachers aide and volunteered often at both church and school events. She was the #1 supporter of Madeleine, Emma, and Graces academic achievements and extracurricular activities. The family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2018 where Carol continued to be a devoted church member and praise team drummer at Grace Lutheran Church. Carol was the accounts receivable manager at Metal Supermarkets. She loved her dogs, Callie, Bentley, and Willow as well as her grand-dog Dood. Like her father, she was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and quickly became a passionate Tennessee Vols fan upon moving here. She was known for her delicious recipes, like her famous Oreo balls. She was a beloved aunt to 24 nieces and nephews. Her home was always open and welcoming to all.Carol was an ever-cheerful, kind and caring wife, mother, and friend who never missed the opportunity to help others. You could find her playing Sequence with a glass of wine, crafting, and exploring the outdoors- especially waterfalls. She found great joy in being with her family, creating traditions, and watching her children grow into the women they are today. In honor of her passion for Christian education, contributions may be made in her memory to Cross Lutheran Schools Sue Lopez Scholarship or Knoxvilles First Lutheran Schools Endowment.Carol loved her community at Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tennessee where her funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd with visitation from 10am - 11am, service at 11am, and a luncheon to follow, where we will celebrate her life and share our fondest memories of her.Carols selflessness, love, and warmth will be forever treasured by her family and dear friends.
