Carol Sue Lemons (Steigerwald), 82 of Indianapolis, passed away in her home on December 14, 2024. Carol was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on October 24th, 1942, to Betty and Charles Steigerwald. She is survived by her four children Joseph (Mary) Lemons, James Lemons, Andrew Lemons and daughter Cindy (Shawn) Schofield; Brothers, Gary, Thomas and Michael (Luann) Steigerwald; she was Mammaw to her 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly; she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and facebook friends she met along the way.
Carol would often reminisce on her days of being a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN before retiring. She worked in the healthcare field her entire life. Carol was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
Carol was loved dearly by her family and we know she loved us too. Her family has comfort in knowing she can now rest in peace, free from all pain, challenges and struggles she faced while on Earth. We hope there's a casino in Heaven with a Double Gold slot machine that hits a jackpot every time.
Carol is preceded in death by both of her parents, loving sister Janet Knight, Aunt Jean Steigerwald Owens, and sweet sister-in-law, Marilyn Steigerwald.
Friends and family will gather together on Friday, December 20, 2024 for Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church located at 89 N 17th St, Beech Grove, IN 46107. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
Burial immediately to follow at Calvary Cemetery located at 435 W Troy Ave. Indianapolis IN 46225.
Memorial donations in Carol's memory may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul-Indianapolis or Holy Name Catholic Church.
