Carol L. Malherek, age 77 of Litchfield, MN died on Saturday December 20, 2025 at her home in Litchfield.

Carol Lynn Malharek, the daughter of Leslie and Signe (Knutson) Shoutz was born on February 9, 1948 in Litchfield, MN. She received her education at the rural Forest City country school in Meeker County. Carol was united in marriage to John on April 29, 1967 at the Church of St. Gertrude in Forest City. Throughout her life, Carol lived in Minneapolis, Shakopee, Rosendale, Forest City and Litchfield. Over the years she worked for Berk Manufacturing, Fingerhut, Pizza Hut, Woolen Mill, Minnesota Rubber and at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield. She was a member of the Church of St. Gertrude. She enjoyed cooking for her family, reading Stephen King books and making holidays and birthdays special.

Carol is survived by her husband John of Litchfield, MN; sisters Ann Holmgren of Mananah, MN and Chere Knutson of Carrabelle, MN; children Jodi Seymour (Brad) of Corcoran, MN and Jason (Haley) Malherek of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Jonathon Herickhoff of Duluth, MN and RaeLynn Malherek of Litchfield, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Shawn; 2 sisters, 3 brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
