Carol McLain, lovingly known as Granny Carol, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 75 after a long and courageous battle with health challenges. Remembered for her kindness, humor, strong faith, and devotion to family, she leaves behind a legacy of love.

Carol moved with her parents and brothers from Mississippi to Dallas in the early 1950s and then to Farmers Branch, where she graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. She later lived many years in Lewisville and then Allen. A born-again Christian, she lived with steady faith and the belief that each new day offered hope.

Carol spent over 25 years as an advertising executive with Harte-Hanks Community Newspapers, known for her hard work, dependability, and willingness to help others. She was a talented gardener and seamstress in her younger years, but her greatest joy was being Granny Carol and loving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cherished granddogs.

Carol is survived by her son Jarrad Chapman (Stacy) and their children-Amanda Hankins (Cordell) and children Zoey, Aubrey, Tucker, and Hunter, along with family dog Bubba; Dallas West; Andrew Chapman and his son Adrian; Shayden Keith; and Connor Chapman, along with family dogs Max and Chloe. She is also survived by her daughter Heather Chapman and her treasured dog, Toffee Ann.

Carol is survived by her brother Lewis McLain, Jr. (Linda), their son Kenneth McLain (DeAnne), and grandchildren Lindsey, Lily, and Anderson.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lewis "Mac" McLain, Sr. and Lucia McLain. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bobby McLain (Jane) and is remembered through his children-Tara Kristof (Matt) and daughter Mia; Jason McLain; Kathryn Holland and her children Brett, Kristen, and Kailey; and Ryan McLain.

Carol often reminded her family, "We don't give up," and "Tomorrow will be a better day." In her later years, she ended her prayers with the humorous and heartfelt phrase, "Pass the biscuits."

Services will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, TX on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Viewing begins at 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
